When there is a life-limiting illness, hospice involves comprehensive care to ensure the comfort and support of patients and their families. As a private, independent hospice, our highly experienced nurses make sure every detail is handled, so families can have convenience and peace of mind. To ensure efficient and timely service delivery, we coordinate with the hospital, your doctors, pharmacies, medical equipment companies, and more. Our nurses and other hospice caregivers visit as often as needed, for as long as needed, for months, to ensure our patients and their families have all the preparation and resources they need. Our motto is "Always Caring. Always Here," because you can count on Desert Valley Hospice to handle all your hospice-related needs.
Desert Valley Hospice delivers these services primarily in the homes of patients. However, we also provide inpatient respite care and general inpatient care when a patient's needs change.
Hospice nurses and therapists are highly experienced in overcoming the pain and other symptoms often associated with advanced disease. Through medication management and other strategies, over the course of 12 weeks, hospice can usually reverse debilitating symptoms.
Assistance with informed decision making about the healthcare you would want to receive under different medical circumstances, what to expect in a disease process, and planning for other services. This includes assistance with the documents and procedures that ensure your wishes are honored.
We send hospice aides and hospice volunteers to support the family in providing personal care for patients. This can include bathing, grooming, mobility assistance, cleaning, errands, and more.
Without proper training, caring for a loved one with a major medical condition can be a daunting, stressful task. Family and caregiver training from the hospice staff greatly reduces caregiver stress, better enabling them to deliver care effectively and confidently.
Your nurse, social worker, hospice chaplain, and every member of the Desert Valley Team will be ready to help in regards to the emotional experience of terminal disease.
In the months following the loss of a loved one, Desert Valley Hospice works to provide emotional support to the family.
